ZEPHYRHILLS - Residents here will join thousands of other towns across the country tonight in celebrating National Night Out, the annual event aimed at raising awareness about crime prevention and strengthening ties between communities and law enforcement.
The event is part public awareness campaign, part street party. Parents can get information about protecting their children online, poison control, first aid, domestic violence and other topics, while the youngsters will be able to frolic in the bounce house, get their faces painted and play games. The event will also feature entertainment, karaoke, food and demonstrations by law enforcement.
National Night Out runs from 6 to 9 p.m. in downtown Zephyrhills. For information, call Main Street Zephyrhills at (813) 780-1414.
