Man Arrested, Charged In Fatal Pasco Hit And Run

TAMPA - Florida Highway Patrol investigators arrested a man tonight in connection with a July 31 fatal hit and run in Pasco County.
Grady Daniel Yager, 37, of 33359 Pennsylvania Ave., Ridge Manor, has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash with fatal injuries, a felony, the highway patrol said. The vehicle involved in the incident, a 1995 dark green Toyota with oversize tires, was found and impounded, investigators said.
According to the highway patrol, Eugene Austin Pickett, 56, of Dade City, was standing next to a pickup truck on Mosstown Drive, just west of U.S. 301, when a fight broke out between him and the driver.
About 8:30 p.m., Pickett reached into the truck and the driver took off westbound on Mosstown, dragging Pickett until he fell and was run over the vehicle, troopers said.
Yager is expected to be booked into Pasco County Jail tonight, the highway patrol said.
