Miami - More than 300 suspected gang members have been arrested in South Florida.
According to U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement officials, the arrests were made during a month-long investigation. "Operation Community Shield" had federal agents teaming up with local law enforcement officers to tackle street gangs.
The areas involved were Miami, Miami Beach, Hialeah, Boynton Beach and Lake Worth.
Those arrested are from Cuba, Haiti, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Jamaica, El Salvador, Colombia, Chile and the United States. They face charges of racketeering, drug dealing, firearms possession and parole violation.
