GET SMART - SEASON 1 (not reviewed)

The underwhelming performance of the big-screen remake starring Steve Carell probably won't move many units of this four-disc set featuring all 30 episodes of the TV original's 1965 season. Still, fans of Don Adams' secret agent and the spoofy storylines created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry may want to indulge by adding this to their collection.

Not rated, 750 minutes

NIM'S ISLAND **½

Abigail Breslin lives on a remote island with her hot Spartan scientist father, Gerard Butler, reading adventure novels by one Alex Ryder, who in her imagination looks an Oedipal lot like Butler (and who can blame her?). But Alex is actually Alexandra, an agoraphobic urbanite played by Jodie Foster, who must come to the rescue when King Leonidas gets lost at sea.

PG, 96 minutes

PETE SEEGER: THE POWER OF SONG (not reviewed)

As if more evidence were needed of the triviality of, say, Britney Spears, this documentary explores the long career of musical pioneer and activist Pete Seeger, the archetypal anti-war, pro-union, environmentalist folk singer. Jim Brown's film includes interviews with the likes of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.

PG-13, 93 minutes

THE COUNTERFEITERS (not reviewed)

This Austrian film, which won last year's Foreign Language Academy Award, is yet another cinematic look at the Holocaust. Karl Markovics stars as a former counterfeiter who is now in a concentration camp, where he is one of several skilled forgers forced to take part in a Nazi scheme to undermine the British by flooding their economy with phony currency.

R, 98 minutes

STAR TREK: REMASTERED SEASON 2 (not reviewed)

Since I can't say it in Klingon, this will have to do: This eight-disc set features footage remastered from the original negative, new digital visual effects and a new soundtrack. Unlike the first-season set, however, it does not include an HD version, leading some to wonder whether a Blu-ray alternative is on its way.

Not rated, 1,311 minutes

FOYLE'S WAR - SEASON 5 (not reviewed)

Although Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle (Michael Kitchen) retired at the end of the fourth season of this popular British mystery series, he returned for three 90-minute episodes, each of which gets its own disc. This time around, the cases draw even more heavily than usual on the historical backdrop of World War II.
