GAINESVILLE - The Florida Gators' 2008-09 men's basketball schedule features eight national television appearances, including a nonconference meeting in Gainesville against ACC member North Carolina State.

The Gators, who missed the NCAA Tournament last year after back-to-back national championships, will have 19 home dates - 17 regular-season and two exhibition games.

Regular-season play begins when they host the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic on Nov. 14 and 16. Participants for the event will be announced in September.

The schedule includes a Nov. 30 visit to Orlando to face Missouri-Kansas City, and a visit to Florida State on Dec. 7.

Florida opens SEC play at home against Ole Miss on Jan. 10 in a matchup of teams that both reached the NIT Final Four a year ago.

In addition to the meeting with N.C. State, nationally televised games in January will include a Jan. 25 home game against Vanderbilt (CBS) and a Jan. 31 trip to Tennessee (ESPN).

Four of the Gators' six games in February will be televised nationally. The Gators host South Carolina on Feb. 3, then travel to Kentucky a week later with both being selected by ESPN as part of its Super Tuesday schedule. A visit to Georgia on Feb. 14 will air on ABC and a Feb. 24 trip to LSU will be shown on ESPN.

CBS also will show Florida-Tennessee on March 1 and Florida-Kentucky on March 7.

The SEC Tournament returns to the state of Florida for the first time since 1990 with Tampa serving as host city March 12-15. It will be just the second time the event has been played in Florida.
