Wachovia Executive Named Patriot Bank President

TRINITY - Larry M. Starnes is banking on bigger and better things as the new president of 4-year-old Patriot Bank.

The Trinity-based community bank with five branches in west Pasco and north Pinellas County lured Starnes from Wachovia Bank, where he was formerly area president for Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
Patriot Bank Chief Executive Officer Stephen G. Zahorian said he was delighted with the hiring of Starnes, who has extensive ties to the area as well as extensive experience in bank management, lending, investments, operations, credit card services and other specialties.
Starnes is a seasoned business, commercial real estate and consumer lender; is licensed in investments and insurance; and is a licensed Florida real estate broker, according to a Patriot Bank press release.

The east Pasco resident is active in community leadership. He has served as president of the Pasco Education Foundation, is a member of Leadership Pinellas, and has served on the boards of local hospitals, colleges, and religious and other civic organizations.

With headquarters in Trinity, the bank has branches in Port Richey, New Port Richey, Palm Harbor and Clearwater.

The bank was founded in 2004 and opened its Trinity-area headquarters at 1815 Little Road in August 2005.
