TAMPA - Police arrested two men Saturday on charges of lewd behavior and exposure at an adult theater in Drew Park, an area where police have targeted illegal behavior at adult businesses.
Tampa police said the men were having sex in the Playhouse adult theater, 4421 N. Hubert Ave. about 9:45 p.m.
John McBride, 60, of Dade City and George Gallmeyer, 70, of Sarasota each face misdemeanor charges of lewd and lascivious behavior and exposure of sexual organs.
McBride was released from the Orient Road Jail today after posting $750 bail.
At the request of residents and business owners in the Drew Park area, police started cracking down on illegal behavior at adult businesses in the area.
In early May, the Tampa City Council approved using $132,714 to crack down on the adult businesses. The money comes from a program that funnels tax money from the Drew Park area back into the community.
In June, undercover officers arrested 18 men, including at least six at the Playhouse theater.
