TAMPA - Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews were called to a water treatment plant tonight after receiving a call that chlorine gas was leaking from a 1-ton tank.
The leak at the plant at 19140 Ramblewood Road, Lutz, was contained about 10:30 p.m. after the valve on the cylinder was closed, fire rescue officials said. There were no evacuations or injuries reported.
About 20 fire rescue workers, along with a hazardous materials team, went to the scene with four fire engines, two support trucks and an ambulance.
Authorities did not know tonight how the leak started.
