Authorities are still searching for two of four suspects who bailed out of a car this morning after it crashed on Interstate 4 during a police chase.
Two suspects have been arrested.
Carlo Roshay Rudolph, 23, of Apopka, was charged with motor vehicle theft, fleeing from officers and resisting officers without force.
Kenyata Stanley, 19, of Apopka, was charged with trespassing in a conveyance and resisting officers without force.
The suspects in custody are being treated at a Lakeland hospital. One suffered a dog bite after being chased by canines; the other was injured by an air bag's deployment, police spokesman Jack Gillen said this afternoon.
Lakeland police chased a 2000 Dodge Caravan reported stolen in Orange County after it failed to stop for police. During the pursuit, a Polk County deputy deployed stop sticks, Gillen said. The car hit the median at mile marker 48 on eastbound I-4 about 5 a.m., and the suspects left the vehicle, Gillen said.
A news release didn't say where the chase began or exactly how long it lasted.
With the help of Polk County deputies, police chased and arrested two of the suspects, investigators said.
A firearm was found on the vehicle's seat, and property inside the vehicle was stolen during a recent car burglary in Polk County, Lakeland police say.
Westbound I-4 is back open between County Road 557 and U.S. 27, Polk sheriff's spokeswoman Carrie Rodgers said. The lanes had been closed immediately after the crash.
