TAMPA - Maurice Green shined a red laser light into the eyes of a driver, not realizing he was shining it into the eyes of an undercover officer, Tampa police say.
Police arrested Green at 1:10 a.m. today at 1919 W. Pine St.
He was charged with misuse of laser lighting devices, a felony.
The officers were riding east on Pine in an unmarked vehicle near North Albany Avenue when the driver was "temporarily blinded by a red laser light," a criminal arrest affidavit states.
Officers saw Green on a porch. Green tried concealing the light in his pants "but failed to realize the position he had it in his pants kept the light on," according to the affidavit.
Green's bail was set at $2,000. He has since been released from jail.
