Man Accused Of Impregnating Relative Turns Himself In

TAMPA - A man accused of sexual battery and fathering a 13-year-old family member's child turned himself Wednesday night at Orient Road Jail, authorities said.
John Jerome Speights Jr., 43, also known as "Poppa Love" and "Pop," was wanted on warrants for 10 counts of sexual battery of a child, 10 counts of lewd or lascivious battery, incest and impregnation of a child.
Speights, of 1906 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, was arrested by Tampa police about 6 p.m. at the jail, authorities said. He was being held Wednesday without bail.
The victim would visit another relative's house, where the offenses occurred, police said. Speights is the father of the victim's 8-month-old boy, police said.
