TAMPA - If your favorite show is "CSI," you always spot suspicious looking people in your neighborhood or you daydream about blaring a siren, the Tampa Police Department has a class for you.
The department's hands-on Citizen's Academy launches on Sept. 16 for nine weeks of behind-the-scenes peeks at law enforcement. Participants can go on patrol with officers, try out tactical exercises, meet police canines and tag along with forensic investigators, police said.
The academy is free and open to 30 people this session. It is held on Tuesday evenings from Sept. 16 through Nov. 18.
