NEW PORT RICHEY - A New Port Richey man was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg after a two-vehicle wreck early Saturday morning on State Road 54, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Richard J. Guilford, 27, was a passenger in a 1997 Infiniti driven by Christopher J. Scicli, 25, of North Carolina, when Scicli's car struck the back of a 1986 Chrysler that had slowed to turn onto Mitchell Ranch Road, a highway patrol report said.
The report said Scicli's car "came to rest on the center median" and that Guilford was not wearing a seatbelt. His condition was not available Saturday afternoon.
The Chrysler's driver, Michael Kesterman, 19, of Holiday was not injured in the wreck, but four of his passengers, including three children, were treated for minor injuries at Community Hospital in New Port Richey, the report said.
The highway patrol was investigating.
