GREENSBORO, N.C. - Carl Pettersson supported moving the Wyndham Championship to Sedgefield Country Club. After a performance like this, it's easy to see why.
The local favorite produced the latest record-breaking round at Sedgefield, shooting a tournament-record 61 on Friday to match the PGA Tour's 36-hole mark at 15-under 125.
He had a three-stroke lead against Garrett Willis (64). Scott McCarron (64) was four strokes back.
LPGA: Defending champ Lorena Ochoa shot a 4-under 68 to take a two-stroke lead during the suspended second round of the Canadian Women's Open in Ottawa. Ochoa had a 10-under 134. Australia's Katherine Hull matched the course record with a 65 to join Taiwan's Yani Tseng at 8 under.
CHAMPIONS: Bernhard Langer shot a 6-under 66 and Tim Simpson a 67 to tie for first at 134 through two rounds of the JELD-WEN Tradition in Sunriver, Ore. Tied for third are Jay Haas (68), Fred Funk (66) and Mike Goodes (67) at 135.
