8:21 a.m. The Manatee County Emergency Operations Center has gone from a Level 1 activation to Level 2 - meaning the county is scaling back its emergency response.
Emergency officials made that announcement at a briefing just moments ago.
There were 75 emergency workers manning the EOC, now there are about a dozen. Many left after the briefing carrying sleeping bags and supplies.
Right now there's no word on whether school will be back in session tomorrow. School leaders plan to meet at 11 to discuss that, but the school district spokeswoman says things are looking good. That may not be the best news for students, who got today off.
