Wilfredo Vazquez had three forged Social Security cards and forged immigration identification Monday night when a Hillsborough County deputy pulled over a vehicle he was in, deputies say.
The deputy stopped a 1996 Volkswagen at East 140th and Nebraska avenues for making improper lane changes and failing to stop at a red light. The driver didn't have a license. Vazquez, a passenger in the Volkswagen, told the deputy that he let the driver get behind the wheel because Vazquez had taken pain medication and wanted to go to a friend's house.
A deputy later found Vazquez had a forged Texas driver's license, three forged Social Security cards and three forged immigration identification in his possession, along with "a notebook detailing prices and forged documents requested," a criminal arrest affidavit states.
Vazquez, of 3415 W. Hillsborough Ave., No. 216, was charged with seven counts of counterfeiting of driver's license or identification and one count of allowing an unlicensed driver to drive.
He remained in Orient Road Jail today. His bail was set at $52,750.
