TAMPA - A 22-year-old man arrested in April on charges of lewd and lascivious molestation and lewd and lascivious battery was arrested again Monday, accused by detectives of using the Internet to solicit minors for sex.
Ryan Christopher Wilborn, 22, of 2554 Splitwood Way, Clearwater, was charged Monday night with certain use of computer services prohibited, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives received a tip in July that Wilborn was communicating with minors on the Internet, the sheriff's office said. An undercover detective assumed the persona of a 16-year-old girl online and began chatting with Wilborn, who engaged in a sexually explicit conversation.
A meeting with the "teen" was arranged and Wilborn went to a location in north Pinellas County with the purpose of engaging in a sexual act, detectives said.
Wilborn was being held late Monday night in Pinellas County Jail on $10,000 bail.
When he was a volunteer assistant band coach for Palm Harbor University High School, Wilborn was arrested on charges that he had sex with one band member on several occasions and inappropriately touched another band member.
The victims were 16-year-old girls who were 15 at the time of the alleged offenses, the sheriff's office said.
