NAPLES - As Tropical Storm Fay ambled onto shore near Naples, Bill Knab and his wife watched and listened.
When Hurricane Wilma hit the area in 2005, they estimate their home suffered more than $100,000 damage. The Knabs say that compared to Wilma, this storm was a "nonevent." Still the Naples residents did see some minor street flooding.
A few trees toppled during the night, and there were power outages in Naples and Marco Island. Local law enforcement officers are positioned at intersections where power is out for traffic lights. City crews are out clearing the minimal debris from the storm. The only remaining concern for residents is the next high tide. They are hoping the effects of Fay will be just a memory by then.
