11:30 a.m.: People in need of a bed and a hot meal can still count on The Salvation Army of Tampa, says General Manager Steve Vick.
"Our shelters are open, and we're feeding as we normally would," Vick says.
Army officials will touch base at 9 a.m. Wednesday for a conference call to discuss any outreach efforts.
"That's when we'll find out what we'll be doing, if we'll be doing anything," Vick says.
Meanwhile, army staff and volunteers will be available to help, he says.
The Salvation Army asks people who want to help those affected by Tropical Storm Fay to visit the agency's Web site at www.salvationarmyusa.org or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY (725-2769). Monetary donations are needed – $100 will feed a family of four for two days, provide two cases of drinking water and one household clean-up kit containing brooms, mops, buckets and other cleaning supplies.
