TAMPA - A judge this morning postponed a child pornography trial for a former Department of Children & Families spokesman.
Al Zimmerman had been scheduled to go on trial next month on a federal charge of producing child pornography. He was arrested in February.
Defense attorneys told U.S. District Judge Susan Bucklew they need more time to interview witnesses located across the country. After a prosecutor did not object to a delay, the judge postponed the trial until November. She did not set a date.
Prosecutors said Zimmerman met at least one of his teenage victims through his job and used that position to entice troubled teenage boys with alcohol and money.
