WESLEY CHAPEL - Up to 1,500 children were helped back to school Saturday through Projects of Pasco supply donations.
School supplies and backpacks were collected at drives at Sweetbay supermarkets, Big Lots in Dade City and Kmart in Land O' Lakes, and were distributed at Wesley Chapel Elementary.
The drive was supported by area Rotary clubs, east Pasco firefighters, Storsafe, the Dade City Police Department and Metro Storage.
Among items donated were pens, pencils, scissors, rulers, spiral notebooks erasers, backpacks, graph paper, calculators and alphabet printing books.
