TRINITY - A student at Mitchell High School reported this morning that a man he didn't know offered to give him a ride to school, the school's principal said in a letter to parents.
The man reportedly told the boy, "Your mom said you missed the bus, hop in and I'll give you a ride," Principal Ric Mellin wrote in the letter.
The student refused the ride and the incident was reported to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Mellin wrote.
The incident happened on Swamp Rose Lane in the Thousand Oaks East subdivision.
Mellin wrote that the sheriff's office described the man as white, clean-shaven and wearing a baseball cap. He was driving a four-door, older model dark red car.
