Former Land O' Lakes High standout and current New York Yankees minor-leaguer Brian Baisley collected a double and a walk during the New York-Penn League All-Star Game on Tuesday night in Troy, N.Y.
Unfortunately for Baisley and his American League teammates, the National League squad scored three runs in the ninth inning for a 4-3 victory.
Baisley's double came in the top of the second, while he walked in the fourth.
Baisley, the son of Land O' Lakes baseball coach Calvin Baisley, was selected in the 24th round of the 2006 MLB draft out of the University of South Florida.
This season, Baisley, a first baseman/designated hitter, has hit .307 with 20 doubles, 11 home runs and 54 RBIs, while playing for Single-A Charleston and the Staten Island Yankees of the Class-A Short Season League. With Staten Island, Baisley's .345 is second in the league. He also has six homers and 39 RBIs.
Last month, Baisley was named New York-Penn League Player of the Week twice (July 21 and 28).
Brian Baisley's twin brother, Jeff, is a third baseman with the Oakland Athletics' Triple-A affiliate, the Sacramento River Cats.
