TAMPA - A Tampa man brought about $21,000 to a meeting with an undercover Tampa police officer Wednesday night to buy a kilogram of cocaine, police say.
Officers arrested Efrain Rosado-Cabrera, 31, at 9:20 p.m.
Before the meeting, Rosado-Cabrera said he was ready to buy the cocaine "because his people gave the money to him," a criminal arrest affidavit states.
Rosado-Cabrera met the undercover detective at 15th Street and East Fowler Avenue, the affidavit states. He displayed money for the exchange and had a 9 mm handgun in his waistband, it states.
He was charged with armed trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, carrying a concealed firearm and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
He was in Orient Road Jail today. Bail had not been set.
