TAMPA -
Police serving a search warrant Thursday found 470 grams of marijuana in an apartment near Hidden Lake, a preliminary report states.
Tampa police charged residents Brian Allyn Cook, 19, and Jenna Ann Aldred, 18, with felony possession of marijuana, felony cultivation of marijuana and other offenses after searching their apartment about 6 p.m. Thursday.
Cook and Aldred were held at Orient Road Jail today. His bail was set at $26,000 and hers at $19,750, records show.
According to a preliminary police report, investigators followed up at Cook's home at the Carlyle Apartments, 8417 N. Armenia Ave., Apartment 503, after he had provided a false name on Wednesday during another matter.
Police received information there was a large amount of drugs and firearms in the apartment and sent Officer Jason Tkach and his canine partner, Bosco, to check out the tip, the report states. When Bosco "alerted" to the scent of the drugs by sitting down, police obtained a search warrant.
Inside the apartment, police found 470.1 grams of marijuana, 2.5 Xanax bars, $319 in cash, a 12-gauge shotgun, two smaller-caliber handguns and several rounds of ammunition, the report states.
Cook also was charged with a warrant for driving with a suspended license.
