Clearwater - A Largo teenager accused of trying to rundown a hotel security guard on Clearwater Beach was arrested at his home this morning, police said.
Police said Michael Baker, 17, 3660 East Bay Drive, was driving erratically in the parking lot of the Hilton Hotel, 400 Mandalay Ave., at about 1:25 a.m.
When a security guard approached him, Baker drove his car toward the man and tried to hit him, police spokeswoman Elizabeth Daly-Watts said. He then crashed the car into a cement wall and fled before police arrived.
Information from witnesses led police to Baker, Daly-Watts said. Baker was charged with aggravated assault with a vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident, she said.
