Considering her singer daughter-in-law's well-known troubles with substance abuse and the law, it's no surprise that the outspoken Georgette Civil, Blake Fielder-Civil's mum, thinks Amy Winehouse ought to be in the big house.
"Prison will do Amy far more good than rehab," Civil has told Britain's News of the World, the New York Daily News reported Sunday. "The police know Amy is a drug addict - and she has now been caught twice on film taking illegal drugs. They should arrest her and put her behind bars."
Rumors surfaced late last week that the troubled singer, 24, was planning to enter a rehab facility near the jail where her husband, Fielder-Civil, is serving time. Winehouse's rep has since shot down the reports.
According to Civil, jail helped her son kick his notorious drug habit.
"Prison worked for Blake. It's the only thing that can now save Amy," she said.
Winehouse checked into rehab in January after a 19-minute video surfaced of the singer smoking a pipe and admitting that she had just taken six tablets of Valium. The singer was also caught on tape in July allegedly snorting cocaine while DJing at a London pub.
