The Pasco Sheriff's Office is investigating the robbery today of the Wachovia Bank, 8740 Mitchell Road, New Port Richey, according to a Sheriff's Office advisory.
The robbery occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. and caused four nearby schools to be placed on lockdown as a precaution.
According to the report, a white male entered the bank where he waved a handgun and demanded money from a teller.
The suspect then exited with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured in the robbery.
The suspect was described as a white male in his 50s, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with short hair and bad teeth. He was wearing a blue "Corona" shirt, tan shorts, a dark ball cap and was carrying a black bag, according to the report.
