PORT RICHEY - Tonight's city council meeting has been postponed.
City Clerk Shirley Dresch said that, due to the primary election, the city's Community Redevelopment Agency will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The city council meeting will start at 7:30 p.m.
On the agenda for the CRA meeting is a proposal to establish a program that will provide matching grants to city residents and business owners for painting, repairs and sign improvements.
The money for the program would come from the city's CRA trust fund, which collects a portion of city and county property taxes for redevelopment. The proposal is based on New Port Richey's grant program.
Following the CRA meeting, council members will reconvene to discuss a proposal to switch to a four-day work week, establish a charter review committee, approve a $150,000 landscaping grant from the Florida Department of Transportation to rejuvenate flower beds and medians along U.S. 19 and several variance requests.
