Tasty Morsels On TV This Week
"Iron Chef," 9 p.m. Thursday, Food Network
Man does not live by political convention coverage alone. If you're tired of the grandstanding, you can watch an authentic competition. Iron Chef Cat Cora takes on Alexandra Guarna- schelli, executive chef at Butter in New York City and, coincidentally, the new host of "The Cooking Loft" on Food Network. (See The Stew above for an interview.) We don't want to spoil the ending, but the chef with the shortest name wins. There. The pressure's off for you to just watch and enjoy.
"Made in Spain," 2 p.m. Saturday, WEDU
One of our guilty pleasures is sitting down late on a Saturday morning with a cup of coffee and becoming a couch potato as WEDU turns into a food network. "Made in Spain" is a standout among that batch of programming since it's part travelogue and part cooking show. In this episode, oyster dressing is made and mushrooms are hunted in the Catalan mountains and used in sausage recipes.
"Family Guy," 9 p.m. Sunday, Fox
Peter is paralyzed after he suffers a stroke caused by eating too many hamburgers. Stewie sets out to become the most popular student at James Woods High School even though he is a baby. Guest voices include Ricardo Montalban as a cow.
"Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations," 10 p.m. Monday, Travel Channel
It might look glamorous coming through your television set, but making a television show does not go as smoothly as you may think. Bourdain is back to show exactly what it's like. This episode showcases some of the silliest, biggest and baddest moments of the season.
