NEW PORT RICHEY - A man robbed the Wachovia Bank at 8740 Mitchell Blvd. on Tuesday morning, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators said the man entered the bank about 11:30 a.m., flashed a gun and demanded money from a teller.
He was given an undisclosed amount and left. He was last seen walking behind the bank building.
Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll described the robber as white, in his 50s, about 5-foot-5 and 200 pounds with bad teeth. He was wearing long dark pants, tan shoes, and a black printed shirt and ball cap. He carried a black bag.
Nearby schools were placed on temporary lockdown while investigators looked for the man.
