PLANT CITY - Ray Clark, who has been on the faculty of Plant City High School longer than any other teacher, retires Friday.
Clark, 58, joined the staff when the school moved to its current campus at the beginning of the 1972-73 school year.
Clark was fresh out of the University of Florida when he took a job teaching agriculture at Plant City High. He most recently was the head of the agriculture department.
For the most part, Clark stopped teaching at the end of the 2007-08 school year but stayed on for a while to train his replacement.
"I've been blessed working with the school and this community. I've had the chance to work all these years in something I love," he said.
