TAMPA - The third edition of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's cold-case playing cards will be unveiled Friday morning.
The cold-case decks, which feature real playing cards, were first used in state prisons in July 2007 to solve homicide and missing persons cases.
In the new deck, two of the cards are from Hillsborough County, FDLE spokeswoman Trena Reddick said. Three are from Polk, one is from Pasco and three are from Pinellas.
Two of the Tampa Bay area's cases featured on past decks have been solved. Reddick said those families will attend a Friday morning news conference, along with a family member of a person from an unsolved case included in the new deck.
FDLE Special Agent in Charge Jim Madden will be among the people unveiling cards at the news conference.
