ST. PETERSBURG - A 50-year-old bicyclist was killed this afternoon when his bicycle collided with a city sanitation truck, police said.
The accident occurred at about 2 p.m. at 246 93rd Ave. N., police said.
The victim, Jim Ramage, was run over by the sanitation truck, said Lt. Joel Granata of St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue. Ramage lived at 151 92nd Ave. N.E., which isn't far from where he was struck.
Diane Veitch, the driver of the sanitation truck, was not injured, Granata said.
A traffic homicide investigator was trying to determine who was at fault.
