TRINITY - A taste of classic Hollywood glamour in a Pasco setting will be offered Sept. 27 at the Heritage Springs Country Club in Trinity.

Classic Hollywood Comes Alive, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Trinity, is an 11th annual organizational fundraiser that will offer a gourmet dinner, entertainment and dancing in a black-tie atmosphere, along with live and silent auctions - and it's all for a good cause.

"We use the proceeds to support our club, which gives money to children's charities," said Becky Bennett, public image communication representative and vocational services director for Rotary Club of Trinity.

Some organizations and projects that have benefited from the club - recognized by Rotary District 6950 as the midsize club of the year for 2008 and named service club of the year by the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce - include Youth and Family Alternatives Rap House runaway shelter; the Little Lighthouse of the Blind (for visually impaired babies); YMCA's Share the Vision Campaign; The Interact Club of Genesis Prep School; the PACE Center for Girls; Safety Town; The Angelus; Pasco Kids First; and the Radio Disney reading program.

Guests at the Sept. 27 event will be given star treatment for supporting these causes. Encouraged to dress in formal wear - or as their favorite movie stars - guests will walk a red carpet into the event as local high school students take their pictures.

The gala will feature an elaborately designed backdrop and performances from Orlando-based entertainers who will appear as Marilyn Monroe, the Rat Pack and the feature act, the Blues Brothers.

"This event will be so much fun, with great entertainment," Bennett said. "The Blues Brothers are returning from last year's event. Last year, they inspired people who I'd never picture dancing to get up and dance."

Cigar and martini bars will be featured at the gala, as well as an appetizer spread and a cocktail hour. Live and silent auctions will feature items from sports memorabilia and vacation packages to theme baskets.

People are welcome to donate items, large or small, for the auction; they also can purchase sponsorships and advertising for the event.

Program advertisements for Classic Hollywood Comes Alive can be purchased starting at $50.

Sponsorships, available for $500 and $1,000, entitle sponsors to a star on the event's Walk of Fame, tickets and an ad in the program. "They've helped my organization, Healthy Families, Boys and Girls Club, and so many others," said Bennett, also program manager of Healthy Families Pasco-Hernando. "They're a great club."
