Please Remember Our Troops

With all the news media completely focused on the presidential elections and the weather, it seems no one is remembering we are at war. Our young men and women are fighting in several far away places in extreme heat and under extreme conditions.

I know that this election is historic. I also realize that the majority of Americans are anxious to have a new leader and to finally be rid of the current administration, no one more so than I. But can we please remember our troops?

These fine Americans are serving their country because they believe in what they are doing. They are fighting for freedom, for democracy, for us! No matter why we went to war, no matter what politicians do, these kids believe in the cause and we must support them. We can "adopt" a soldier by going to AnySoldier.com and pick someone to send packages. We can write letters; we can support them here at home, in military hospitals, at bases and American Legion locals. We all can do something and should! And the media needs to report on the wars, not just on the politics and politicians.
