TAMPA - Tickets for the NFL Experience, an interactive fan festival the week leading up to the Super Bowl, go on sale Wednesday.

The NFL Experience opens Jan. 24. Events will be in the south parking lot of Raymond James Stadium, site of Super Bowl XLIII on Feb. 1. It will be closed Jan. 26-27, then will reopen until game day. Also, NFLX After Dark opens the festival for adults only from 9 p.m. to midnight Jan. 29.

Tickets are $18.50, or $12.50 for ages 12 and younger. NFLX After Dark tickets are $10.

"That first weekend is a great time for local people to go because the out-of-town fans aren't here for the game yet," spokeswoman Liz Benz said today. "It gives them a chance to beat the big crowds."

The NFL Experience has been around for 18 years. It's bigger than when it last made an appearance in Tampa in 2001. It now spans 850,000 square feet and features more than 50 interactive games and attractions. Proceeds from the NFL Experience will be donated by the National Football League to two NFL Youth Education Towns of Tampa Bay.

Among the offerings: areas where fans can pass, punt, kick and catch footballs; a kids zone featuring games for ages 3 to 10; several autograph sessions with current and former NFL players; a Donruss Super Bowl card show; a Pro Football Hall of Fame Throwbacks exhibit; and a event sponsored by Under Armour that simulates NFL Combine testing.

Tickets may be purchased at Superbowl.com or by calling 1-866-849-4635.

Bank of America is the title sponsor.
