Authorities are searching tonight for a missing 12-year-old girl who has tried to harm herself in the past, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Selah Ramirez was last seen about 4:50 p.m. at Manatee Glens Hospital and Addiction Center, 2020 26th Ave. E., Bradenton, deputies say.
She is 5 feet tall, weighs 120 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a brown jacket, brown pants and a T-shirt with "PACE Just For Girls" printed on the front.
Deputies say Selah's mother was taking her daughter to the nonprofit addiction and crisis center for an evaluation. Selah had previously told her mother she would never see her again and that she was going to kill herself, the sheriff's office said.
Selah left the lobby and went into an unknown direction. The mother told deputies that before Selah disappeared Tuesday, the girl had taken a handgun and tried to harm herself. The situation was resolved when a family member took the gun away from her, deputies say.
Anyone with information can call the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at (941) 747-3011.
