Visitor Guilty Of Trafficking In Cocaine

DADE CITY - Timothy and Carol Webb weren't the ideal couple to receive a $175,000 windfall.

Both were drug addicts in January 2006, when Carol Webb and her ex-husband reached a divorce settlement for that amount. Flush with cash, the Webbs packed up a travel trailer in Maine and headed for Zephyrhills. Two months and thousands of dollars later, the Webbs found themselves in jail, charged with drug offenses.
Timothy Webb learned Tuesday that he'll be in custody for much longer.

A jury took just 45 minutes to find him guilty of trafficking in cocaine after he tried to buy nearly 2 kilograms from an undercover officer on April 19, 2006. When he is sentenced Tuesday, he will face a minimum of 15 years in prison.

Carol Webb, 51, was arrested the same day but pleaded to a lesser charge last year and served six months in the Pasco County Jail.

Michael Henning, a confidential informant who lived next door to the Webbs in a Zephyrhills RV park, set up the meeting between Timothy Webb and the undercover officer. The Webbs and her five-year-old son piled into their travel trailer and drove to the Microtel Inns & Suites on Gall Boulevard.

The meeting, which took place in a room at the Microtel, was videotaped and played for the jury Tuesday.
Timothy Webb went inside the room and handed over $32,000. Posing as a drug dealer, Detective Robert Formoso brought out two huge bags of powder cocaine. Webb had taken a quick look inside the bags when deputies barged into the room and arrested him.
Carol Webb was arrested inside the travel trailer, where investigators found crack cocaine, crack pipes and thousands in cash.

The Webbs had spent roughly $30,000 on cocaine in the month before their arrests, according to trial testimony.
