TAMPA - A Seffner man is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol with his 3-year-old daughter unrestrained on the passenger floorboard of his truck, Hillsborough County deputies say.
A deputy stopped Aby Chacko's 1992 Ford pickup Tuesday for a traffic violation on Parsons Avenue, according to an arrest affidavit. Chacko's daughter was on the floorboard, and there were empty Bud Light cans in the truck.
Chacko smelled of alcohol and didn't perform well during field sobriety tests, the affidavit states. Breath tests showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.03 and 0.035. Florida law presumes intoxication at levels of 0.08 or greater. Chacko also provided a urine sample.
Deputies arrested Chacko, 35, on charges of child neglect, driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence – second offense.
Chacko was released from jail after posting $8,250 bail.
