ZEPHYRHILLS - Janet Fields told city police she had too many people to support and that's why she took the money, according to a report.
Fields, 47, the Vision Center manager at Wal-Mart on Gall Boulevard was arrested by Zephyrhills police Tuesday, accused of making eight fraudulent refunds at the store and pocketing the money herself between Feb. 16 and Nov. 24.
Wal-Mart loss prevention officers contacted police after doing their own investigation and provided police with refund tracking sheets.
Fields, of 39012 Fawn Way, stole $1,876 over the nine-month period, according to the report. In a written statement to police, Fields said she used the money for "personal reasons."
She was being held on a grand theft charge today at the Land O' Lakes Jail with bail set at $5,000.
