TAMPA - Three teenagers are accused of robbing a Pizza Hut deliveryman at gunpoint, then ordering him to kneel in a closet while facing the wall, police said.
Victor Maurice Tanner Jr., 19, Malcolm Rashad Hill, 19, and Frederick Wallace Reddick, 18, were held without bail today at Orient Road Jail. Tampa police arrested them Wednesday on felony charges of armed robbery and kidnapping, records show.
The deliveryman, William Cornwell, 48, was not injured during the robbery Sept. 26 at 9418 N. 19th St., Tampa police said. He escaped from the closet after the teens left the house.
An attempt to reach Cornwell today was unsuccessful.
A criminal report affidavit states that Reddick lives at the address where the robbery occurred. However, a preliminary police report states Reddick lives two blocks from this house.
Police say the teenagers were wearing masks and holding firearms when they greeted the deliveryman about 11:15 p.m. after he arrived at the house with pizza and wings. They made him lay on the floor while Reddick searched his pockets, removing his wallet and taking $165, police said.
The teens then ordered the man into a rear bedroom closet, where he was told to get on his knees facing the wall, police said. The deliveryman told police he was ordered to stay in the closed closet and told he would not be hurt.
The teenagers left, taking with them the food, worth $31.05, police said.
Detectives tracked down the teens by reviewing phone records of the pizza orders, a preliminary report states.
