One person is dead and one is in the hospital after a shooting in Plant City this afternoon.

Killed was Mike Longoria of 1980 South Forbes Road in Plant City. His body was found in the backyard of 3506 Juanita Drive, said Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter.

Longoria's birthday was Tuesday. He was 36.

The second shooting victim was taken to a hospital, but no information was released on the victim's identity or injuries.

Sheriff's officials were called to the house at 1:15 p.m. but have released few details.
