TAMPA - Sickles High School students touched up cookie and graham cracker tiles with icing mortar Wednesday as they worked to complete a gingerbread house taller than the teens.
Members of the school's culinary program spent three days this week at the Westfield Citrus Park mall crafting a giant gingerbread house that will remain on display through the holiday season. The house, dotted with gumdrops and marshmallows, sits in front of the Sears entrance.
Three Sweetbay supermarkets pitched in to donate cookies, candy and icing. Alessi Bakery provided 71 sheets of gingerbread for the home's walls.
