Sarasota Burglar Breaks In And Falls Asleep

SARASOTA - A Sarasota man came home Wednesday night to find a man intoxicated and asleep on his living room floor, police say.

When he awoke, the man stumbled about the apartment — apparently so drunk, police said, that he thought it was his own.

Christopher M. Whitesell, 36, broke the door frame from a unit in the 800 block of South Orange Avenue, rummaged through the bedroom and cabinets and fell asleep on the floor, according to an arrest affidavit.

Whitesell was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
