TAMPA - It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's MacDill Air Force Base's Special Operations Command team.
This evening, two members of Socom's parachute team jumped from an airplane during a break in the Academy of the Holy Names middle and high school soccer matches. It was one of many events slated for Jaguar Spirit Night.
The Dad's Club handled the food and drinks, and middle and high school soccer and basketball games kept the MacDill Avenue fields and gymnasium action-packed.
"The student response has been outstanding," said Matt Dryden, assistant athletics director. "This is an important opportunity for our student body to demonstrate their spirit in all things Academy."
