TAMPA - The city needs volunteers to fill several vacancies on boards and commissions dealing with everything from nuisance properties to tax breaks for commercial developers.
The Public Nuisance Abatement Board, a quasi-judicial body that deals with properties with a pattern of criminal activity, needs to fill one vacancy. This is a two-year term.
The Barrio Latino Commission, which reviews property variances in historic Ybor City, is seeking a volunteer lawyer and architect to serve on the board. This is a two-year term.
And the city's 11-member Enterprise Zone Development Agency needs to fill the seat of a board member who resigned. The term expires in May 2010.
Board and commission members must be city residents. They are required to file annual state financial disclosures, and their appointment must be approved by the Tampa City Council.
