Bear Naked Native All-Natural Whole-Grain Granola
Available at Whole Foods and health food stores; $4.89 for 12 ounces
The pitch: "Bear Naked Native Granolas provide a multisensory eating experience for those who have a healthy appetite for life."
Key nutritional information, per serving: 140 calories, 5 grams total fat (1 gram saturated fat), 18 grams total carbohydrates, 3 grams fiber; 6 grams sugar.
The skinny: This "native" version of the popular all-natural granola features exotic fruit flavors such as yumberry goji currant and mango agave almond. The fruits are chewy and slightly sweet, and the granola is full of flavor and crunch. A lot of crunch.
And like other Bear Naked products, this granola is loaded with whole grains. For people trying to veer away from enriched grains, this granola adds another choice.
But for those used to eating corn flakes, this breakfast cereal will be a texture nightmare. Your jaw and teeth get a workout unless you soak the granola in yogurt or milk for 10 minutes.
