Most teams begin the football season with dreams of playing for a state championship.
For three Tampa Bay area teams, that dream remains a possibility.
Its win and they're in.
Largo, Pasco and Plant will play Friday night in the state semifinals with a shot at a trip to Orlando with a championship on the line.
After Largo's dominating 59-17 victory against Charlotte in a Class 5A regional final, the Packers will play nationally ranked St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale. The winner will play the victor of the semifinal game between Lakeland and Pensacola Pine Forest on Dec. 19 at the Citrus Bowl.
After squeaking by Citra North Marion with a 13-12 victory, Pasco hosts Tallahassee Godby in a Class 3A semifinal. The winner advances to the title game Dec. 19 against the winner of the Cocoa-Miami Monsignor Pace semifinal.
Plant could be in its second state championship game in three seasons following its 17-14 upset victory against Armwood at Dad's Stadium. That field once again plays host, this time to Palm Beach Gardens Dwyer. At stake is a spot in the Dec. 20 title game against the winner of the Tallahassee Lincoln/Daytona Beach Seabreeze semifinal.
