MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - USF senior SS Carlton Williams made his 46th career start, breaking the school record of 45 by Stephen Nicholas and Trae Williams.

To say Carlton Williams has overcome a lot would be an understatement. Williams said in his career he's had a torn quad muscle, a broken pinkie toe, a torn thumb ligament, a dislocated shoulder and two concussions.

Despite all the injuries, Williams has played in all 51 games of his USF career.

NO STEAK FOR YOU

In January, South Florida DE George Selvie attended the Walter Camp Foundation banquet in New Haven, Conn., and was surprised to discover his roommate during the weekend was West Virginia LT Ryan Stanchek.

Selvie, who went against Stanchek for the third time in his career Saturday, said Stanchek told him before last year's game, former WVU offensive line coach Greg Frey gave Stanchek added motivation. If Stanchek held Selvie without a sack, Frey, who coached USF's offensive line before going to WVU, said he would buy Stanchek a steak dinner.

Selvie had a sack and the Bulls won 21-13. "I got bragging rights," Selvie said.

LET IT SNOW

USF played in snow for the first time in program history, and the temperature at kickoff 29 degrees. The previous coldest game in USF history was 33 degrees at UConn in 2005, a 15-10 loss.

A light snow fell the entire game and two hours before kickoff the artificial surface at Milan Puskar Stadium was nearly a solid white. A few Mountaineers student managers drew a No. 5 at midfield in honor of WVU senior QB Pat White.

Earlier in the week, South Florida QB Matt Grothe said "it would be cool" to play in the snow. "I'd like to play in snow," he said. "It would be a lot of fun. Haven't seen snow in a while."

USF had four heaters on its sideline.
